Thank you, I appreciate that! I always feel like I'm working against a skill deficit in my early pipeline (concept and modeling), but the only way to improve it is through continued practice. Sometimes it is nice to finish a project though!
Figured out the first one I mentioned now myself. Seems dDo likes to carry around the custom mask paints so it's good practice to erase everything in the Dynamask editor after setting up a material id mask.
I would say the right feel would be realistic PBR looking, something that you look at and think 'WOW' I still need some practice with Rendering and would like some help or a few pointers. Thanks for your reply
I'll probably subD the parts and bake them down to low poly. I thought about leaving them high poly but I'm going to get it into unreal so I may as well do the whole process. Good practice ;)
Another outsourcing company? Practical tip from me would be to have portfolio samples similar to what you see in secret6's 3D gallery - they're the guys who do outsourcing art for Naughty Dog. Good luck.
Wow, can't believe i missed this when you first posted. it's nice to see all these best practices for texturing laid out simply in a workflow. i agree everybody else, the texture work in your portfolio is really great!
Good practice :) That's true, I think cryrid method is more efficient and quick than the one you try to do. That extrude feature is quite new to zB (4R3 ???) so maybe your tutorial is older. But it's good to know it anyway :)
Well, I don't think going full Zbrush is the best option as I'll end up not practicing enough with SubD modeling which is my main focus for now. Anyway, thank you, I'll try with booleans for the top parts. :)
Day 5 Just practicing to get a likeness on a stylized/cartoon character made from head but disney inspired. I've had a little break on sculpting just a couple of days. But today i'm back on to work on the problems highlighted in the comments.
I'm doing a little breakdown of the art but I have a really hard time figuring out what's supposed to be behind this glass "door?". It looks like some kind of bathroom but the way it is made with the ramp and the wall makes it really not practical.
