The top folder is set to linear dodge. Anyway, if it's not a blending mode problem (99% will be the cause), it's a masking problem.

Normal maps need to be linear space, so sRGB (gamma space) should always be turned off.

AO and more generally Lightmaps are baked as Linear, simply because they are lighting information. There is no reason to store/bake them as sRGB.

MODO specific tip: You may also want to try setting your Colorspace from sRGB (default) to Linear.

Ah yeah that was always the thing and which forced always a linear workflow - unwrapping first and additional UV tweaks in max.

Disable gamma in Max to bake in linear. At least, that's true here in Max 2018 with either V-Ray or Scanline.
