How did you bake that normal map? it looks like all the edges on the LP were softened (or all faces on one smoothing group if you used Max). For something with this many 90 degree-ish corners it might have been better to break the UVs and harden some edges.…
I was 28 when I got my first game gig. I had studied something completely different in college and a year after I worked using my first degree, I decided it wasn't for me and went to art school to pursue 3D. I consider that somewhat late. You are fine...keep crankin good art, good things will happen...
I forget who posted these awhile ago but as long as where on the subject of old Russian photos... http://englishrussia.com/index.php/2008/02/19/abandoned-russian-village/ http://englishrussia.com/index.php/2008/01/18/russia-under-nazis-during-ww2/ http://englishrussia.com/index.php/2007/08/28/wooden-pillars/ There is a ton…
Well that's surprising, Hollywood has beaten this idea to death with a spiked bat made out of solid steel, why on earth would they still entertain it? Anyway, it's a cool short for effects but not much else, the music was ripped straight from 28 days later and it sure as fuck did not go with the action and there was no…
Yes it is. It's 28 frames from one animation curve(one value) in Maya stored in a 1x32px picture (32px because of power of 2). So far I'm just storing the same data in R, G & B. So I have an accuracy of 256 steps. But you could easily adapt this to get better precision or perhaps store multiple values in different color…
While I agree this is pretty awesome news, and definitely something to watch if it's something UDK users will have access to, I don't have hopes of seeing it anytime soon at all. Didn't UT3 get promised for Mac like 28 years before it was released... has it even been released?! Very cool, but I'm not holding my breath to…
Hi, I am trying to get the hair folicles attached to polygon faces but i'm having some problems. When i create hair for some reason the folicles are placed in the center on the head as you can see from the attached image. Any idea how to fix this. On other characters this technique worked fine. Wraps are really simple to do! just need to problem solve!, This is a great video to watch from Josh Singh, he uses Zbrush in a very simple but effective way in this tutorial, great for beginners. Skip to 28:30 and you can get an idea on how he does wraps. super simple, great results for stylised meshes…
That's a good point about CF cards Justin, hadn't thought of that. As far as recording times go, I don't think 28 mins will bother me (right now). I've been eyeballing the Mark II for a while now as my go-to DSLR, something that I'll keep for a very long time. The video capability is a bonus. Also, Sept 2011?! Don't want…
Marmoset doesn't seem to have a manual online that I can use to search up the symmetry tool or enable autosave. Anyone know if there is one? Thanks. (Resolved) 09/28/21 - Doesn't look like you can delete posts here. Just to update for those who care, support contacted me and it looks like they are voting to add the feature…
