Wow thanks Prophecies for this, really nice references to start modeling:() Do you know any good sites from Star wars creatures references? Think it will be good practice organic modeling from start wars creatures.
Hey guys, new project ! Just a casual girl here, nothing fancy :D No marvelous Designer this time, so I could practice cloth sculpting. This time I may use the UDK for render, just to learn it.
Took me about 2 weeks to get hold of whats what in the UI with at least an hour a day of practice. Reading the documentation also helped Woth the 79$ http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/953/Introduction-to-ZBrush-4
A silly paintover snapped from a phone camera. Some fun before real zbrush work results. I've been practicing zbrush workflow for almost a week and it's still distracts me. I hope to get used to it ASAP.
Seems like there would be some long steps you need to do to get an inverse sine, tangent or cosine. Definitely not practical anyways... If you really need this, you could always use a custom code node like this...
Dude, hate to be direct, but 4 spokes look absolutely terrible. You can not get away with that if your ref clearly has 5. I suggest you practice some more modeling if you have trouble creating that.
As much time as possible. If i have a good day i sculpt 4 hours after my dayjob. How much does a world class pianist practice? Same rules to get a world class portrait artist.
Check out the tutorial I wrote about PBR for TB2 here: http://www.marmoset.co/toolbag/learn/pbr-practice Its specific to Toolbag, but most of the concepts are pretty universal and it explains the metalness vs spec map thing.
Yeah good start! You should also have some fun doing sculpt sketches using photos as reference and trying young, old, male female while practicing with the software as well. Keep em coming. Cheers
I don't have 1) Source SDK 2) Windows All I needed was to make mods for Team Fortress 2. Sorry if I didn't explain this part clearly, or at all. (wow, I need to practice on context.)
