dontcha think the elevation is a taaaad too much? looks odd and out of place to build a cabin with no stairs/ladder practically on the side of a mountain. feel like your terrain choice is dragging down the quality of the other stuff.
Hey guys, late reply, but thank you both a lot with your help, I do think I get the gist of it now, but uni doesn't really permit me to practice too much...thanks again :)
You can overlap the UVs if you know the lighting will be the same, for example they'rthey're all on the North side in shadow. But that's a pain to deal with in practice. Usually you just accept the lower resolution and use automatic lightmap UVs.
No, you do not have to learn a 3d program before learning compositing. You can start compositing you're own photography as a start, or a random photograph or image, or someones 3d model online as a practice point for starters.
Oh, I'm downloading this...definitely. Of course, I am going to use it for testing purposes and my own nefarious ends. Also, I could definitely use some practice painting model textures. Thanks for posting this!
RIP sir. Its a testament to his greatness that practically all of our news servers were knocked offline by the massive influx of international traffic when the news dropped. Condolences to his wife and two little children.
@Tul_ Awesome! Appreciate the help! I don't have too much practice with the handpainted style so anything helps. I will try blending those highlights and bit and define the difference in materials a bit more. Thanks!
johan your work is very good and the woman looks attractive but you should have turned up the supersampling or FSAA on the renders and i don't approve of the practice, most artists seem to be using, of ditching the gloss maps.
seems pretty cool, do you see this as practical at all in a work environment though? i'm not a big fan of 3d stuff involving polarized lenses as they tend to give me a headache after 30 minutes or so
after tweaking the eyes and adding the texture effect: i've been looking at some fur painting tuts but it didn't work for me yet.. will have to practice it. you guys know any good fur painting tuts?
