Forgot to update this page, silly me. Took a pass at the albedo, the worn edges still need a color difference similar to some of the peeling. I also want to maybe push the green moss growth a bit harder, not sure if its too subtle or not pronounced enough. I would rather error on the side of subtlety though.
Usually best to use a separate material for semi-transparent parts, like the kind of glass on that clock. Alpha blending is often expensive to render. Also often you'll get sorting errors if the whole clock model has blending enabled. UDK and Max use very different methods for alpha blending. Did you RTFM?
[SKETCHFAB]e8f562b7ff70477eaee537ee8279921d[/SKETCHFAB] Some smoothing errors still present in the sketchfab mesh, but the work continues, no time to endlessly tweak settings in that website. :poly118: High Source (View in 3D) P3d.in has a bit better import for my mesh groups for some reason... so have a look there for a…
And say "ok fine, it's a cartoon character", but even so, the proportions don't look good. The reason for altering proportions in a cartoon is to exaggerate the main characteristics of the character- the proportions right now are falling short of that. Either exaggerate the proportions far more, or make them correct. As…
Unfortunately there is no way to do this currently, we hope to implement a "safe frame" feature in a later update (sorry, no ETA on when). For now you'll have to use trial and error if you want to use an aspect different than your monitor's. You can also resize the window to roughly the ratio of your render target as well.
Back from work, Here is the textures I came up with. There is some errors like visible seams and things I will improve but that's a honest first try for ddo and for my first asset ! (Some Textures, colors are not 100% real life accurate I mean that I'm happy with the choices I made for texturing ! even if it's not the…
Try it out! This is the best way to learn, by finding out what does or doesn't work, trial and error. I learn the most from my mistakes. Get good reference video & pictures. Try to replicate a real effect. This will keep you on the path. Look into dUdV, a shader trick for water refraction.…
It looks like your cage isn't extruded enough in certain spots. The cage needs to be extruded just off the model itself but not too far as that can also introduce baking errors. The cage just needs to have clearance all the way around, those black spots are where the mesh underneath the cage is pointing through.
i think your trying to link files that aren't in your dropbox public folder, if i manually enter the urls i get the dropbox 403 error and it asks me to login. im assuming you can see it fine since your are already logged into dropbox and the files are only viewable from your account.
@samwoodart thanks for the kind comments! I dont't get what you mean with the iris lining up/stretched (looks very fat??). I adjusted the eye position so it isn't so off, she looks better now :pleased: Gave her lashes and lipstick, corrected minor errors etc... going into rigging now
