S2Engine got a point there. The concept depends heavily on filling the scene with interesting detail like those pipes and all the stuff on the ceiling. Also there is more texture and detail to the wall elements. Go back to revisiting the scene before you go further with the lighting and rendering. I'm sure you will get a…
Crazy Asian concept art or Anime? Rather than looking at other environment work like this (which might be hard to find) maybe draw inspiration from nature or abstract design and art. Like that top image was clearly inspired by a shell, then placed on impossible balance and construction. The bottom is ice, crystals and…
So just to clarify you don't want to see the cage in edit mode (Vertex, Polygon, Element etc)? When I model I have the cage on as I need to be able to see and select polys, verts etc. To see final model its shape, silhouette etc I just go out of it. Also as you said having a shortcut for - Show end result is amazing. Made…
Thank you for crits Silvarspark and littlet! I was playing with the blue stuff a bit too much, I fear :D I wanted it to be a more solid element to the painting. But I think I'll go for a more subtle look, as you suggested. I'm not sure if I'll keep the pattern on the cape. Didn't really like it myself. I too liked the hair…
Most of what you're showing looks quite good, but it feels like you're getting out of your element with the statue. If you want to improve your character modeling go for it, but you're looking at a lot of time with anatomy books and reference to get it up to the same level as your other assets. I'd seriously consider…
Hi Parhelion, If you select by element when you import the model (3dmax) you can select each part of Mirana and detach it from the main model. You can then export either mirana or her mount to Zbrush or any other software to begin with the sculpting proccess. You don't need to worry about the number of polygons of Valve's…
I did my dissertation on Mise-en-scene, which is a film term for using the arrangement of elements on screen to communicate meaning to the viewer. As well as implications in film, it also has strong connections to videogame environments/characters and even UI. If you go down the environment/lighting route check out…
So after completely not updating like I said I would (*Sorry*). Here's what I've been working on whilst collaborating with another university student. I'm responsible for all elements other than the main cabin exterior and interior. https://vimeo.com/215974526 Here's some quick screen caps in case you don't like videos :)…
Well it's nice that u got it all set congrats :) Now design-wise, there is nothing very special about it (like my first item:)) look at the workshop couriers and add some elements. Maybe give him a bag to show that he is carrying stuff and show us how you did the animations(walking, idle, etc) so we get to know more about…
copy pasting uv works as long as your vertex order is the same. It even works inside the unwrap, if you've attached 50 object copies, unwrap one, copy it and paste to other elements. Now you could make something that save and paste uv according to vertices relative space position, or use morphix if the shape has changed.…
