Yes, this got a bit out of hand. Every change I make to the face changes the overall mood. Showing the teeth makes it feel more like a pinup. This is quite a tough challenge, you're right I need to take a step back again before I end up with 20+ more iterations. For the other one though I think these corsets would look…
Hey Ben I tried your smoothing tutorial and this is what I got after baking my normals in Xnormal. Smoothing angle was 180 and everything is unwelded including my uv's. Any suggestions?
Yes to saturated. Try to use desaturated leafs texture and change backlight from bright green to something more gray. Also try to make texture darker (around 100 mean on histogram in PS), and set diffuse color in material to 187,187,187. CryEngine in general doesn't like saturated colors on textures. Do it on all textures…
Feels to me like there's too much ambient light in there. The lights themselves could all use some softening. If you're going for an "aged" feeling as in the era that you would naturally have a study like this (think of the time from the late 1800's ala "the time machine"). In that case, the lights would be all gas and…
I grade everything in terms of how many Skittles I award to each game. Like uncharted 2 got 184 Skittles. I also award and factor in things like color and taste of the Skittles too making it a very robust and diverse grading system.
@myclay Sure thing - A way to do it would be to grab all the normals from a merged copy of the two objects. A few permutations are possible : either running the operations on separated models for head and body (thus maintaining vertex order), or, merging the head and body together, running the operations, and then…
It's set somewhere between the 1890's and the 1920's. It's very old! The style is suppose to be cartoony mixed with realism. There aren't any roads per se. The idea is it's a tiny island with less than 500 people located in the middle of nowhere so transportation is not a big issue. There's going to be a beach and some…
I think we have simila errors on this thread: http://polycount.com/discussion/181729/normal-projection-issue If you find out anything usefull to share let us know!
Here are some excellent recent animations by students doing the same sort of project. You've probably seen them, but hey, you never know.
