most likely because the polycount is calculated by face rather than triangle. but in game dev we usually calculate pure triangle count. a face or in this case a quad face containing 2 tri is calculated as 1 giving you a polycount half of its triangle count.
Yeah, adsk basically knock updates out every year without any major features, well features that aren't applicable to games dev, so that DVD should do just fine. Couple that with the help docs and you should be set for the basics of 3ds Max.

your low poly look great , :) but i have a question about your hipoly .. i was see jason deus ex environment theard and someone say 90 degree on hipoly is bad ; but you have some 90 degree angle on your hipoly , that fine ?

There's only one reason they want this bill, more money for Cyber Security companies and DoJ jobs. It's the same kind of thing they do for DHS and DEA. Without these fabricated threats, they can't justify all this money going to people we don't need. It's a waste of tax dollars.

Not sure what was the reason, but at some point Counter-Strike devs changed names of all weapons in game. New names like KM Sub-Machine Gun for MP5, or Maverick for M4A1, Night Hawk for Desert Eagle It's back to real names now, i think
