Yeah, I've noticed things like that as well. Between version. Although for me, normally max 2012 was faster than previous versions. Doing anything with many objects was like 2-3x faster in 2012 vs. 2010 on my end, if not more. I've kept scripting in 2010 most of the time, but lately I've been using 2012 and copying files… -

The incorrect way -textures are normally painted in photoshop (jpeg/tga for example) which will have a gamma of 2.2 (sRBG) -lighting is always done in linear. The correct way -textures are normally painted in photoshop (jpeg/tga for example) and have to be turned to linear (saving in exr format automatically does this)… -
