Hi guys, i need some help with the model, this is a render in 3D´SMAX of the AO+Normal map, but now i want to do the diffuse, spec...etc, i never used 3D Coat and i think it would be a great way to get the maps. what do you think?
Just crazy awesome design...and obviously topest of the top notch modeling Completely unrelated here...but i'm pretty sure my pc would explode just importing one of those, let alone actively work on it AND render it. Any chance for some pc specs on your work machine?
Thanks. Yes there is some SSS on the slush as well as the snow. Not quite sure it's really "physically accurate" on the wet slush but eh... I wasn't quite getting the effect I wanted playing only with normal/rough/spec. Thanks for the critique! I'll keep that in mind if I decide to revisit the project.
I'm speechless looking at her face, it looks like a super clean nextgen all spec and sss shit... but it's a simple diffuse. Really beautiful. The geo is perfect, the hair don't look slapped on, they seems to collide with the face, even the protuding mouth work with the poly angle. You're really gifted.
My math's not great by any means so correct me on this if I've completely messed it up - couldn't you fit 8 512x512 textures into 2 1024x1024 textures? So you could do 2x512x512 diffuse, spec, gloss and normals. Or for the second example, a 1024x1024, 2x512x512 and 8x 256x256?
this is pretty cool! i like how you tried it with different renders. I also like how it's stylized. I really don't have any critiques. the modeling, anatomy and proportions look good, i don't see any seems, and your spec and normals are working for this. Nice job :)
Hi! If you want cracks in your stone I would make them deeper and run from one side to the other like in the picture below: I would also try to play with color variation, like more brown-ish tones and lower the spec/glossiness. Hope that helps!
That's it. Apply a texture to it so you can see it tiling. You should also research texel density - figuring out how many pixels per meter you want to use. I don't know much about current gen specs, I'm guessing 1024 per meter?
Images are best. A video helps if you want to show the asset in action in a shipped game, if it shows off what you did better than an image can. The character needs work IMO. Eyes are too white. Spec map should be in color. Cloth texture looks like stone.
It's beautiful! It's sort of interesting that no one has really done this subject to such perfection. The new spec map looks better, but alas the tank still looks... Off. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you how to do fix that, my only suggestion is to maybe tone down the noise on the exposed metal.
