Edge creases are not meant to replace bevels or chamfers. You Should be able to get bevels and chamfers with at least as much precision, but with less geometry in the base mesh using opensubdiv.
In the Coords properties set the Mapping Scale to match your landscape size. That node is working the exact same way as in UE3 btw, they only replaced terrain by landscape in the naming.
Is this true? Has there even been a proper replacement series? It was like the studio-default wherever I worked at, cheap, reliable and perfect. The same happened to the ultimate mx518 companion: :(
fhurtubise, the actual M249 SAW ("Squad Automatic Weapon") -IS- awkwardly arranged - it's a real weapon. He just added the chainsaw forward handle, and replaced the grip with a chainsaw grip.
I can see it has a lot of potential for some type of games, and possibly some new genres of games that'll be fun to play, but it obviously will not replace gaming with controllers.
Displacement maps do not replace normal maps, at least in games (it can for offline rendering). Even with displacement/tessellation you still need a normal map for the shading information.
