I usually wouldn't say anything negative about a studio but having worked for many studios especially japanese ones, the only one I wouldn't return to would be cc2, the montreal one might be different but bringing japanese dev culture doesn't sound like a good start.
I'm just curious if all these ships they're selling in packs are also for the finalized game? I feel like if they wanted to create a real economy everyone having a super nice ship going into the game won't be that interesting to progress? Def interested, but still waiting for a more complete product
That armor looks pretty impossible to be *in game* used. it's a grand design, but that's gotta hit at least a million or so if at the least 700,000 polys. its bump mapping is what tricks the eye into thinking its high def that way you can make low poly model look b@a.
Ok well i will go and do my normal map first in that case, then maybe an AO if my dev team leader allows it, and then ill continue on with my diffuse. Also sorry i was a bit unclear, by dirt/mud buildup i meant a mouldy effect, not a buildup sorry.
HDR light studio has been around for years.. it has a standalone renderer for preview and a lot of similar functionality as keyshot. If you are doing product rendering for print images, or have experience with real studio lighting, its a great tool. It has basically nothing to do with game dev.
@Obscura I had seen that thread but must have mixed the ship damage model link, Thought I read most of the decal materials and how to achieve those looks through deferred lights. Thanks for everyone comments, devs also shed some of the info on RSI Forums.
I believe because your map files can be shared with a dev team. So the login makes certain only certain people are allowed to edit it? I'm not a 100% on that. Either way, I too would love the CryDev docs to be available. Will try that google suggestion, thanks leleuxart.
I love the shout-out to the testers for the Epic logo. I remember back at EA I came up with a creative way to do multi-panel art pieces and decorations with the Sims content importer tool while QA'ing it. The dev team loved the idea... and took full credit for it.
Most devs just aren't aware that a certain FoV will cause motion sickness in a % of people. Cynical Brits video was the first time I'd heard about it that's for sure. It isn't as simple as he describes to change tho. Unless you don't mind the screen being all squishy of course.
thanks everyone. obviously the etqw stuff is a team effort, and not exclusively done by myself. thought i should make that more clear. [ QUOTE ] good job man, btw how's the application coming along? [/ QUOTE ] they accepted the folio i handed in and invited me to a test in mid dec.
