Re: to sculpt or not to sculpt
I always sculpt as much as possible unless we are talking hard surface stuff. It really gives me much more freedom as i can make edits much quicker and add things that otherwise would be hard to do. Sculpting can quickly get dirty though.. -

Yeah, remember that you can always have few textures, but several materials which changes the texture look by for example blending stuff like rust into it, or changing the colors/saturation ect. Also take some artistic freedoms, not every bolt plate has to exactly the same as on the concept. -

I believe this is because their engine is build upon MAYA itself. If we are thinking of the same thing, the artist can then quickly rig parts of a mesh and modify it accordingly. Since the engine can accept the rigs, and its built on top of maya, it gives them quite a bit of freedom to work artistically with the engine… -

Is that possible to upload an application to the appstore by a regular PC with macOSx installed in it?I hope it is,otherwise me too have to search for a second hand mac mini. I never liked macs,honestly never used one of these before.I'm just can't forsake my freedom to play with the components in my computer case. -

on topic though i would vote gun, i think you can have a bit more creative freedom when it comes to designing a gun to model versus a sword, swords only cut, you can have non-lethal guns or guns that sink ships....just my 2 cents -

it means you cant buy them and use them in a project that gives anyone freedom to take the textures from your game and reuse them skipping cgtextures, perhaps you could contact cgtextures and ask them for details, and explain your situation, it could be enough to state in the games eula that art is not opensource. -

I hope there's a lot of melee weapons besides swords, I'd love a cloaking assasin class or something else interesting. I love the concept of the world, terrorist freedom fighters, huge mobile base, all awesome, different, and interesting. I want some missions in space or on the moon or something. -

quick test in udk we are thinking about making an sdk once we are done with him, so maybe someone is interested, but basicly i guess it doesn't give toooo much freedom besides colours, as oposed to lowpoly sdks, where yo can fill anything inside the silhouette
