Hey Kroma! Yeah the 4x4 hour slots are instruction, so a student is full on learning to use an app. In my case that is ZBrush or 3DSMax. As a general rule straight up teaching should not be longer than 40 minutes because most people cant concentrate past that period of time. You know yourself that you can work at computer…
Have you setup a cage in a way that covers completely the highpoly mesh? Have you enabled the "Usa cage option". Render a "wireframe and ray fails" map. If you see some red pixel then your rays are missing. Sure also your lowpoly model's UVs don't overlap. If you use 3dsmax avoid the max2obj .OBJ exporter ( it's really old…
I've had this happen before. Typically whenever I had a mouse that had a tilt wheel, it just didn't work. I always thought that these mice just wouldn't work with max. According to your post though, you said it has worked at times. I ended up getting a new mouse, but made sure it worked with 3dsmax first...and I've had no…
I recon it would be more functional with a few smaller screens, I only use 2 monitors when using 3dsmax because I can drag the UV-Editor & /or Material Editor out onto the second monitor. I did use a large TV at one point and while the display looked very clear and nice, I found it pointless when using software for 3D…
Rendered in Marmoset Little update on the material. I'm kinda curious about gloss map and how to set them up. Any of you have good pointes or tutorials? For the moment the text and logo is on the same texture sheet as everything but I'll probably have a seperate map with an alpha because the text is flipped on the mirrored…
I have started my blocking out phase like I had mentioned above with a little bit of landscape work. I think the next steps are to finish blocking in the lowest building (the long one) and start building some static assets to replace my BSP's. I'm hoping the FBX exporter within UDK does wonders for me in 3dsMax. I am…
according to comparative anatomy the bones of all mammals are the same. A whale has the same skeleton as a human but the difference is the proportions. Notice in this image the whale has hip bones for no good reason. For example this is a rig I made of a chicken: bird skeleton by sprunghunt, on Flickr I made this rig with…
Hello, I have a problem with the "save", when I try to save in .obj, the obj never finish to save. If i wait 10min, the obj file is still saving and is about 2Go+. Did I fail something with the installation? My high poly is about 50k poly and the low is about 2k. I am using win7. I tried with other props and it seems to…
I got another solution :) ... I reduced to level 1 and since I didn't sculpt yet a lot of details , actually none yet couse I didn't have enough polycount on head I exported the model from Zbrush lev 1 to obj , imported in 3dsmax , applied a localized meshsmooth on the selected polygons in head , so I doubled the density…
I think if you change the transform center to Local or Parent, and the pivot center to Pivots, then they should all snap to a single vertex? You should see each vertex with it's own pivot tripod. Sorry, don't have Max here to test.…
