Loved the concept when I first saw it, and fantastic execution of it. As OrganisedChaos pointed out, though, the sculpt does seem a bit short in comparison to the concept. I think the shoulders in the concept also have a more pronounced downward slope to them.
VikingJim: Well, he could show his process to doing concept art in photoshop (brushes, layers, shading, lighting etc.) Snick: That concept is looking pretty rough, your going to fully render out some concept art for this right?
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Also: why no polycount in the concept art category? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, what's up with that? [/ QUOTE ] I see Polycount in the concept art category. I just checked the website. 3Dtotal was the one I didnt see on the concept category.
Hey guys! I am going to be working on my own Hearthstone board for my portfolio for Blizzard. I am going to be taking my concept into 3D and flushing it out. Hey guys. I decided to learn how to learn hard surface modeling and design my own concepts. I'm making a clean, scifi environment piece and started the concept in SketchUp before I make the trim/detail sheets following Alex Senechal's tutorial. Hum, maybe not a contest because the word "contest" make people go crazy about rule and law and in the end it became a mess, just an Handpaint Monthly Art Jam. That way, it allows people to do whatever they want and learn about technique. I'm all about the "meh baking AO on zbrush is cheating blabla" but that's the fast…

If you're an aspiring Artist then yes you do have the time and you should use it to make your work as amazing as possible. -It is important. Time to double update this thread! First up an updated "CTF" version with lights of the big ol tech. http://i.imgur.com/WZlQxfL.jpg But that's old news, and my latest last minute project has been something else. That "something" is a return to an earlier concept, specifically the 3d blockout I spent a little time with.…
This is looking cool, Josh! My biggest concern is saturation. Like value, saturation can pull the eye. This focal saturation should pull the eye to the bed and be strongest there. In your current iteration, the hallway competes a bit with the bed, and some of you other emissives/colors meet similar levels. Let's talk…
Hmm, not bad Adam, although I'd say you've missed out on some of the most basic major shapes of the building in the concept, which are part of what made it more interesting. Basically you seem to have pulled in the silhouette too much - if you look closer at the concept you'll see that the massive lintel over the whole…
