Cool start on the hair! For the beard I think you'll want to get rid of the stepping effect by angling the roots of the cards and by adding transition cards on top.

I use Maya. Thanks for the tip, I'm not good at rendering haha! I'll try that at the next step of the high poly, before making the weld on Zbrush.

You can, but it adds a lot of extra steps. Import maps, apply node, export new normal, open new project, import new normal.

Yeah obviously I meant importing your modeled objects into zbrush to grab them, which definitely (defiantly!) adds boring steps to your process. =\

EDIT: you dont actually have to do the third step manually. As long as you have Soulburn scripts installed you can use the materialIDRandomizer.
