I was curious to see if dDo could be useful for 3d stills. For the normal map I used normals for camera space. Here are the maps: result: Since the 3d still has shadow and spec info baked in, this grunge map was overlaid on the final scene
Yeah this definitely looks great! I would say that the textures and adding that convex edge shine in the spec will make these pieces really pop. You might be able to work with the high frequency detail everywhere with it being geiger, and if you're clever with your lighting.
Oy vey, I hope the wing shading hasn't suffered too much. @baddcog: Definitely looking a lot less monotone. If you make the spec reasonably high, you should get a decent "sheen" to the carapace, and it'll end up perfect.
Nice work Bitmap even if the specs for that rock are a little overkill. Also I'd basically never use a decimated or reduced mesh in-game and 2nd the vote for Decimation Master over Meshlab. All Meshlab does for me now is crash or corrupt meshes.
Thanks man. When I get home tonight I'll be sure to pump up the spec. I'm finding new areas every time I look at it that need work now. I will post my texture sheets soon. Thanks again!
Those textures are so crisp and sharp, love it. Materials look great and the final image is really nice. Only "bad" thing is that the sphere looks out of place since it appears to be military spec while the rest is a home workshop. Awesome job
Well, that blows. Anyone know off hand what the specs are for our submission? I can't remember what size the images have to be. If I remember correctly, there's a beauty shot, some other shot, construction shot, texture sheet, reference/inspiration?
If you are looking for an even more portable version, get the A8Js (that's the one I have). A bit smaller, but same specs more or less. Linux support is also really good, Kubuntu runs like a charm (and should do so on the G1 too).
i love this character and w/e alien race it might be my only suggestion is to add more detail or brushed/scratched detail in the spec unless this is a brand new suit but i think it might make it more interesting ...be subtle if you decide to
We can, but we should not. Since our engine supports only up to 16 bit maps. I'll try to use TGA, but 32 is way out of our specs. this is a very low-end pc game. Any other ideas anyone?
