Hi Rita, Just a heads up in case you are not aware but your submission to the curated pathway in the Steam Workshop is not visible to the public. When I view your submission there is an error message that says: "This item is not visible to users. The author needs to accept the latest Steam Workshop Agreement." Cheers, Kyle
my game keeps crashing on start up, it gives me an error that reads "This game is currently unavailable (application running)".... it's weird... it just booted me out after playing like an hr and a half, and now it won't let me get past the intro screen. Anyone having this issue?
I'm generating my second UV sets in Maya. But sometimes, for a quick test, I use UDK. As for the map resolution, I'm currently at 512 on all the assets. I'm gonna try to push the maps size to all that UDK can handle, till I get an error of death message. :)
No worries brometheus! I'd like to help in any way I can. In my experience at work, perception issues happen due to cultural and language barriers. As for when, it's anytime you don't talk face to face with someone. Haha. The digital age is wrought with misunderstandings. But there are ways visually of reducing errors.
Quick update on my rope process. Using 3DS Max Lofts - They seem pretty good as you can keep the original splines (and editing them moves the resulting lofts), you also get auto UVs. Took a bit of trial and error - Any advice or tips would be cool.
i guess its something new that the UPK and UDK files have to be in the proper directory. i kept getting a lot of "external file" errors that wouldnt let me view the matinee until i fixed this. definitely an awesome addition to the tutorials. i know this will help out a lot of people!
I highly doubt than any tiny AO "error" would be a deciding factor. Having been part of the interview process it can be for reasons you would never have considered. But GL do seem a bit odd with their hiring process. Now get that character posed and onward and upward!
I would say that 8GB is the sweet spot for now. If you really want to see an improvement, I would overclock that i7 930. With a $70 Corsair H50 cooler I took my i7 930 to 3.5ghz with only a little trial and error, and I'm planning on taking it to 4ghz later on.
i encountered a problem where when i imported heavy geometry into marmoset, while it remained stable for the duration of the session and saved out a (huge) scene file it failed to load that back in with an error prompt. that shouldn't happen. ok, perhaps i should decimate the meshes next time, too. ;)
Hey @RaptorCWS - I've actually since deleted the cages I've been trying to use. What I did though was apply a push modifier in 3dsMax as recommended in this link - http://docs.cryengine.com/display/SDKDOC2/Common+XNormal+Baking+Errors+and+How+to+Solve+Them Here's the low poly wireframe:
