@ZacD Hey :) thanks for the comment well i tried that, but than i lost the feel of hearthstone, if you know what i mean. so i took a look at how blizzard changed the boards etc. for all their boards. i came to the conclusion to change as little as possible on the overall look and feeld of the board, so it will read as…
@ZacD: thx! @Conte: yep, second one is from Revolver (awesome underappreciated movie imo) and first one is from 3:10 to Yuma. Here is another one from 3:10 to Yuma, I kinda gave up on the background :P guess I really gotta do more environnement studies. Cya!
Your props look great and very solid, I really like the phonograph and camera. I'd have to agree with ZacD and say that the environment is letting your portfolio down. Maybe try another environment or redo the textures too improve the overall quality of the scene. Keep it up, you've got the skills, they just need to be…
Thanks guys! I still need to push the impressionist one a little more, it's in the "kinda sorta real" area right now, it's interesting trying to get your mind past that block of things needing to look real. ZacD, thanks for the crit about the eyes, I always struggle getting them to look right. I will keep working on them!
@Kevin Albers As terribly uninformed person do you know any good ways to do that, except dropbox or google drive? @AlecMoody @ZacD Some of my assets were made for major AAA project and publisher. As I know they need to approve renders. So publishing them without approval would put me in bad position.
@zacd: it's converted in Xnormal from object space into a tangent space map. It's actually what Handplane does for every tangent basis out there except Mikkt. @huffer: yes, I've triangulated that. As for baking in Xnormal I've tried it with other meshes with the same result. I'll do some baking once again, but I doubt I've…
Thank you very much, ZACD! This is exactly what I needed. I ended up having to split most of the model up into separate shading groups, but it ended up looking okay so I can live with that. Unfortunately I've upped my poly count from 124 to 272, but that's still so low that I'm sure it's fine.
ZacD, are you sure about that? All the rigs I've used 3DS Max and what not (other than my own) have ATI cards. The Xbox 360 has an ATI GPU. ATI are no longer Nvidia's bitches. Their cards are perfectly fine and at the moment there's a lot more innovation going on at ATI than there is at Nvidia as far as I can tell.
ZacD: totally. i was refering to their DVD offerings. I hadnt understood creation22's first post correctly. that said for the money they charge they have no real excuse not to be very picky in their vetting. Being skilled doesn't infer the ability to teach. I had teachers from Don Bluth and Disney. some were awesome…
