I would augment your reference with someone from real life, maybe Butterbean or a sumo or something. Fun stuff. -- Lothar like 'Lothar of the Hill People'? Great SNL sketch!
Thanks for all the feedback will work on em. The concept he is based on is a muscular version but I decided to make him less muscular/fat version like a traditional sumo wrestler type but less extreme lol.
Hindu Bimbo Factory. The next in line of a series of mediocre Tycoon games. I'd play Return of Bobsled Warrior though, that sounds fun. Hahaha, best one yet: No One Can Stop the Sumo Inspector
Hi Zac thank you for that, very good crit! I've been using almost a 'sumo type' body for reference but you're right, some of the proportions need work. I'll work on refining those points now :)
refined it a little bit, kind of looks like a sumo lol with the dam standard brush do you use it with an alpha? when i first downloaded it and everything it has like a soft dot alpha but i noticed it doesn't seem that good for really cutting into the mesh
@Rik: Depending on what your dad needs Photoshop for and what his budget is there are alternatives. GIMP Sumo Paint Pixlr Corel Painter - Which has a new Photoshop-like UI mode now. Corel PaintShop Pro Windows Only: Paint.net Mac Only Pixelmator
The stone texture reminds me a lot of Diablo 3's Cathedral for example. Still needs a little bit of work though. And am I the only one who was a bit confused seeing a Sumo-Ringer in the UV for the Lion's face? :D
The weight thing is a non issue though Mark. No idea why you took off on that tangent. NFL/NBA/NHL: Athletic Americans: fat Sumo Wrestlers: Fat fucks Japanese: skinny No real correlation between popular sporting events and waistline.
The next issue at hand, i.e. "uh-oh I'm designing again", is what kind of clothing and accessories am I going to kit this guy out with. Ornate sumo-inspired Mawashi, or simple wrap style? Or possibly do both as props that can be swapped in (love that DLC costume life).
