I'd love to do it all in AE, but unfortunately, my school assignment requires I use a 3d element. I think I might have found something in the fluids drop down. Set initial state? I just visited that site earlier today ironically. There is a guy on youtube, FreddieW, who links him for tutorials and tips.
Hah, love the epic music synched to some guy doing random hair on a dog... Looks interesting though, really curious to see what kind of bakes you can get with this, could be a great initial base to work with. And it does seem alot more interactive than any other hair system I've seen up till now.
I have found this which is giving me a good understanding of the need for lightmaps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joKnmShAdJE So its my understandiung that, if ever you have a uv shell that is flipped/inverted/outside of the initial UV space, you need a secondary UV layout for your lightmap? If not, it will just use the…
I haven't had much time for 2D art, but here's my first bust in Zbrush! This is definitely the first of many! Took me a few hours, maybe 3 or so. I had a reference for the initial idea but then deviated quite a bit from it. This was meant to be more of a "sketch." It gave me a chance to experiment with brushes, and learn…
I took another stab at this and took the lower LOD into Unreal to see what it looked like with all the maps. I'm pretty happy with the results. Here is an image showing a comparison of my initial low (the hero version that has enough triangles to be an FPS weapon haha) and the greatly reduced new low. Triangle count…
Zbrush has improved so much since it's initial release. Once you learn it's ins and outs it feels like second nature. I use 3DCoat primarily for painting 'old school' diffuse textures, it's 3d painting tools are great for it's price but since I've been doing PBR work, Substance Painter wins, hands down.
FudgieWudgie: Initially no , I couldnt find anything interesting yet , as with the staff wich I will probbably rework/modify . mollsie : ty , I managed to bake the robe part so far ( I am in the middle of college exams ) ; gotta sculpt the lantern , and make the staff a bit more interesting aswell before baking those too .…
This is a wonderful model, very keen to see bake and of course textures. I haven't seen any references for this specific gun but the magazine strikes me as slightly longer than I would have expected? That's just an initial impression and almost certainly unfounded, thought I'd mention it anyway in lack of anything else to…
http://www.1up.com/features/mapping-uncharted-3-drake-deception Cool 1up Article on the history of Uncharted from the start initial ideas after Jak2 all the way to Uncharted 3. Page 5 has a cool little video showing the 2010 reveal trailer spliced up with some before and after shots of the trailer being made. :)
Needs a little weight on that initial run. And I would work on the legs while he's jumping/falling, they seem a little dead to me for such a killer blow, it would be fine if he's jumping over a wall or something, but he's doing much more then that. Not sure what you used for reference, but here's a similar clip from Troy,…
