Try to include more detail or at least something aesthetically interesting. There is very little variaty in the texture which makes it look very mute. Add some color or something to the map -

So I can still have the bake under one map channel and the diffuse under another? Is 5 map channels, 6 including a light map, too many? -

As a side note, Substance Designer 4.1 (release target Feb/March 2014) will include a new AO baker which will be on par with X-normal quality wise (and much faster :) )
