Hi Ben. I just wanted to say these shader tutorials and Shader FX (which output some surprisingly easy to read shaders) were a big part of me becoming a technical artist today. Thanks so much.
Look into Post process chain. There should be info on UDN and the default should be in FX Hit Effects package as Console something off the top of my head. You can change it to be loaded from a custom pacakge by changing the ini.
Hi I did various tests to resist particle against my rival. These are ice particles for freezing his blood. I use Krakatoa for the rendering: first test: test overlay with the robot the last test with fume fx
Maybe stripping out the chromatic abberation and toning down the post fx will help when you balance the lighting. It's still rather dark but again, it depends on what you want it to look like. Is it too dark in your opinion?
Glad to see its finished now:) The video is definitely very strong. With all the music, camera work and animated fx - that should have been a huge work! Love the temple entrance and the final vista - that definitaly kicks ass!
>> "Can I use other maps other than Diffuse? Yes. You can use Alpha maps." Diffuse + Alpha(if needed) only. I'll say try painting the fx manually on texture its looking nice.
Thanks Sledgy! I had been just opening 3DS Max at the same time to fix this problem, but I had something pretty close to this on my Quardo FX 540 card, and I was able to fix it by changing a setting.
On a train, can't see the vids. Do you mean in the viewport while you work, or at render time? For viewport, yes. Use Shader FX, works basically the same as Unreal.
I love it! Just playing around with all the preset FX so far. Lots of fun. Maya with god rays and lens flares is fantastic! Very nextgen modelling experience.
