In older max versions, editable poly was by default displayed as it is now displayed with model assist. All the non-triangles (quads and ngons) are always triangulated (you can edit the triangulation with the Edit Tri./Turn buttons in the UI) but when they're flat, you can't see any difference in shading.

there is no way to combine meshes in mudbox... auto retopo and dynamesh is a different thing... dynamesh is based on a cube grid and cutting the mesh in small faces... auto retopo is more like qrmesher in zbrush... it tries to create a clean quad topo... and you dont have to use curves... just hit the auto retopo button...

You can orient in cheap version too (manually) . It has opto mode and buttons on the top to rotate model and then do the same with bounding box . That box is useful also for clipping the model and output in parts since Zbrush looks like having problems with importing more than 15mil obj from Photoscan
hit Q, show the tool settings, and at the top you have common selection options. under marquee and Drag u have two radio buttons, Camera based selection, turning this on will only select camera facing components - also this should set it for all other tools as they share the common selection settings.
Hey Varg, what is the best way to tryout Wrapit? I see a discussion page and an email newsletter subscription button but no way to apply for the beta. Any ideas ? The tube approach looks amazin, and that's the one tool missing from TG at the moment. Plus staying inside one app is always good. Thanks!
So I actually still have this issue. If i middle click and drag with my mouse, it selects through just fine. But since I am on a cintique I am using a pen. The pen button I have set to middle click doesn't select anything when I click and drag.
yea there are a couple various animations for the synch kills that fill your health. the slow down thing is pretty awesome and not really intrusive for the most part, adds some extra oomph to the shoulder charge move. the combat is pretty fluid, really nice/easy blend from shooting with the triggers and melee with the face…
Are you talking about PSD transparency ? or PNG ? You just have to enable "Show Realistic Material in the Viewport" for that material. ( the blue checker box button ) For PNG you have to disable "Premultiplied Alpha" in the map'S bitmap parameters For the PSD you have to pick the individual Layer in File load'S setup dialog
