Hey that's neat. Did you develop this? Which versions of PS does it support? Fill% is different from Opacity% btw. Fill is helpful when you use Layer Blending effects like Bevel, Stroke, Drop Shadow, etc. since it only affects the layer pixels not the effects.
Just continuing to experiment with workflow/technique. That second one is a derivative of the chick above, using the smudge tool to create a majority of the forms. Got the idea from a post by TeriyakiStyle about blending. Super cool way to work, gonna use this a lot in the future. editing in more as the night progresses;
I think if the background was a solid white it'll be able to show off the prop better. It's because there are a lot of dark colours in the prop which blend into the background. I think the dials need more dirt and grime as well. Overall I think its really good! Keep it up!
Hello! My name is Brian Theodore and I was a lead environment artist on XCOM 2. Working with such talented artists here at Firaxis has been a blessing and an amazing experience. In this post you will find the contributions that I made on X2, as well as some from our contractors. Thanks for looking. =)
not sure which map it is in your turnaround (normal, or diffuse), but I can see the seams. Have you tried blending them together in ZBrush and re-normalizing them in photoshop? Everything else looks great but if you can get rid of those seams, it will really help this one.
I wrote something like this too at work, last month. Not for Lit spheres though, it projects modelplanes onto a blockout and reprojects them to another UV set while you control blending an falloff. Looks like we both had the same idea at the same time :p
I am having fun with it. Deagle is pretty nuts so eco rounds going to get crazy! Definitely want to see some new maps, played dust 2 enough to make my eyes bleed. Maybe we will just have to make some new ones :)
i second mudbox. secular, bump/normal, etc. you can paint all that in real time, hardware accelerated with shader support and real 3d lights. layer stack with full photoshop blending modes, and curve adjustments. i hardly ever paint anything in 2d anymore.
looking good, but you might need to paint scratches or scuffs on where there are edges. the texture just blends too much in my opinion and not enough blocks of contrast on the model itself. also, fix up your spec, he face looks very oily atm. keep it up
peer pressure doing it once or twice. ok. I can see that. but if you do it over and over as a party trick, you deserve to go blind. people use alcohol to stop bleeding sometimes. why would anyone think its a good idea to put it in your eye?
