@EVF Aha I've been there, The best thing I think to overcome it, is to try out different techniques before choosing one that would look the best - The problem with the original/first piece though was that it didn't have enough value so it made it kind of flat. I think the diffuse is waaaay too light on the gold on the cannon. Looks like plastic. Generally to do Metal, you make the diffuse REALLY REALLY dark (nearly black is acceptable).
