some progress on texturing. im trying out a new workflow where I create textures with several uv maps. and then once the color looks good i bake it onto a proper unwrapped uv. and derive spec/nrm and so on.
[ QUOTE ] Because more is better? Duh. Example: Would you rather date a girl with 2 tits? Or one with THREE? Think about it. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, the gaming press is full of journalists who rate graphics only by the spec sheet.
why don t u guys aim for unreal 3 specs if u think ur up for it? on another note, amazing looking project, id like to see a website or blog aswell!!! looking forward to updates on this thread cheers
What work, exactly, needs to be done? What kind of specs are we looking at (poly count, texture sizes..etc)? How many assets are we talking? Please try and provide as much information as possible to what you are looking for.
2675 triangles. 2048 OS normals. Spec. Color. So I baked it all down and put it in Marmoset. Still trying to get the hang of the toolbag. Any crits are welcome! Thanks to everyone who has responded so far!
Hello! I'm getting the exact same thing on the "classic" panel. I need to switch to another panel (every other panels works) to get it work. My specs: Nvidia 3080 FE Windows 10 20H2 Toolbag 4.03 Hope it help :)
Thanks for the good comments. I'm going to rework the texture a little bit right now to make the dirt more realistic (more at the bottom, scratches following the flow,...). I'm definately going to try out the blue in the spec map. I'll keep it updated ^^
Bricks were just a map test to make sure they'd work I have cobblestones with generated normals, spec, etc Thinking about HOW to make the modular castle. After I get done thinking I'll re-create the castle.
Most of these models are being rendered in Marmosets Tool Bag 2.0. The material varies from person to person. I myself will generally go with a medium gloss, high spec, and generally dark diffuse. Just depends on the material I may be trying to emulate.
Thanks for the advice tynew! I will keep it in mind and go back over the model, I haven't done much work with the spec yet but today I hope to get it all done so I can use it for my Unity Skyshop Tutorial.
