Yehh I agree with those errors. Unfortunately now though unless i can fix it in the low poly then theres not much I can do because of the time frame I've got. I might try making his eyes slightly smaller and we if that helps
Ok I think I fixed the problem. The side closest to the view is now more concave while the side further from the view has the more convex curve around the crystal so it matches the concept better. Any other errors that look like they need fixing?
Agreed, I think its lacking some sort of central hero prop. Needs something for the player to say holy S&$# what is that. As far as the lightmass problem I am assuming your using a lightmass volume. Could you post the error log its giving?
Those are smoothing group errors. I probably wont be able to help as I dont exactly know how they work but in max you have to assign smoothing groups. Sure if you google smoothing groups max it'll probably be more useful than me :P
never mind. This started as an error that would not let me edit my layers because "I was in MRGB mode" (spoiler alert, I was not) so I thought a bug just built up and glitched it out. Turns out it won't show up if you're not in Poly3D mode
Hi, Call me impatient, but I already went for wrap-it (the same you mentioned). I tried the free one earlier today - it looks promising, but it gave me some errors, so I tough, sod it, I can invest a few euros to get this to work.
In regards to support, Modo definitely would not be any better. Despite loving the software, I literally had to stop using it and replace it, because I hit a showstopping error that I couldn't even get a response on anywhere, let alone a solution. The community is practically non-existent.
bear in mind that collision cant have holes or open faces. so if you just copied it from the mesh you would need to cap it off. to be honest best bet as far as that goes is use box collision. as far as the shading, looks like a smoothing group error.
Object paint has the same problem as normal align: can't snap. A custom primitive with auto grid looks like it would work but the only one I can find is Primitive Maker on scriptspot which is giving me write errors when I try to save.
pretty interesting, I'm messing with it now. It seems he developed it in max 2011, it's very buggy in 2009. It's an encrypted MAXscript so there's no way to tweak it to fix errors. Also kind of wish the brick generator would lay things out so the maps you bake tiled.
