Hey everyone, great work! @FairyDuck your killing it. At this rate you could get all the shields done. I am working on the dragon shield. the art style will be realistic and my first attempt at PBR. At this stage, the base model is pretty much done and the next step zbrush.
Thanks! I am definitely gonna take that advice. I was planning to add some scrapes and things to the mask and tighten up the details of the mechanical eyes once I get the rest of it tightened up. I'm wrestling with the shirt. sort of unsure how to get it to look more realistic
Thanks for the feedback once again, in terms of making the character look realistic one of the rules of the assignment is to base it on the graphic novels so in terms of anatomy everything is very exaggerated as it is after captain america, the super soldier. But thanks for the feedback on proportions i'll look at extended…
I'd definitely spend some time picking a good composition. 2/3 of your images are almost perfectly symmetrical. It makes the environment less realistic and more created. Also your bridge doesn't have the wear and tear of the Overtoun Bridge. It looks newer from those shots.
how about high paying exec and management take lower more realistic salaries since they are the once who have KILLED EA and most the games/series they have bought. God i hate this economy/capitalist idea sometimes. Guys who sit at the top are almost untouchable
Im wondering why everyone is sculpting the fur? Is that really more efficient and better quality wise than using alpha mapped polys to have a more realistic feel (possibly) Or does Guildwars have a viewangle that wouldn't take advantage of that very well? Still looks great of course
It depends what games you're talking about. You wouldn't expect a lot of swearing in pokemon, but games based on realism such as military/gangster/criminals/adults/war/industry/people talking about stuff/etc of any kind would realistically have swearing in it. key word = "realism"
http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/873/Photorealistic-Texture-Painting I think is one of the best tutorials on the subject I've ever watched. It's very dated, but that doesn't matter because it explains in detail on how to reproduce realistic look and texture with photos, and how to think about the texturing in…
yea i was thinking about this too... or you might not use it as a tiling wall but only between an other tiling texture as a way to break a more monotone but "usable" tiling wall. Still i'm really liking the texturing style on these! very clean yet realistic and belivable. Keep it up!
thanks for the tips, i'll give it a go and update it here for the hilt the material is a dulled brass similar to this thanks for the help i'll do some updates and post things here, thanks the hilt is not my design though, the sword is Mulans sword that i am trying to bring into a realistic setting
