Thats certainly a differnt way of doing it, something to look into. While im here I forgot to ask, can you link bones into the Skin modifier like you can with Physique, you know for say a cape for instance?
reset X- form go into animation hiarchey transform/scale reset pivot 0,0,0 make sure ALL quads no 5 sided NO Tris Also apply a relax modifier on top of it so all polys are equally spreaded .
not that i know. Its just a collection of scripts - not something that modifies any existing max files. Does the alt key with the viewport navigation work? Or the shift key when duplicating objects or the global F1 key for the help files?
Not sure if this was mentioned, but do you have anything above the Editable Poly in your modifier stack? Also sounds like it could be a setting in EP itself. Is Preview Selection turned on? Or anything dynamically-updated like Preserve UVs...
i'm not sure if maya has anything like max's symetry modifier, but it rocks at making arches like that,, just make a nice straight section then , use 2 symetrys on it with the mirror planes rotated aand its all gravey

duplicate the mesh under you're future decal, use the push modifier to raise it off the surface a bit (1/4 inch maybe?) Cut out the rough shape you need. Planar UV to your decal texture.
Who wants maya to incorporate Modifiers in their next release... I DO! For now I've imported the building as pieces, i'll try out some different ways in the future and see what I can get. Thanks pixel.
ctrl plus shift on the polygroup you want to isolate(keep).then in Geomtry-modify topology del hidden and you re left with the blueish polygroup.if you want geometry on it use Zremesher.I hope i ve understood your problem and helped you.Good luck!
