@FourtyNights: Yeah I saw the latest substance painter update included a baking function, so I might give that a go; see how it compares to xNormal. I also read of a hacky method to get curvature in modo, so I might test that too. @Sean & Ben: Thanks! Here's the right side:
BAH! After several driver re-installs, rollbacks, updates and setting changes, I've realized that the preview I'm talking about only occurs on Editable Poly, not Edit Poly. Ridiculous in the same way that only Edit Poly has the Inset function. Some days I just feel like destroying computers.
So does this potentially mean there could be universal scripts, or would the python still be calling functions and stuff unique to each software? Hmm come to think of it, I wonder exactly how the python interfaces with each software. Time to do some learning, I guess. This really opens up some awesome possibilities.:)
Well here is what the hotkey editor looks like for me. I remember in prev. versions that there were check boxes for the modifiers like CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, etc. Notice how the "edit" button is grayed out. It doesn't matter which function in any menu I choose, the button remains grayed out.
this is cool to wathc.. you seem to have a lot of fun with it and i like that nj on the MS mouse lol! that stamp thing is cool. Its like the ultimate easter-egg function "well Bob im glad you asked that question. Actually the internals of his mechanical arm is made by stamped pictures of dildos and penises"
Macs are great if you like playing all 3 games ever released for them, using Photoshop or buying music off iTunes.com for your trendy iPod. Also macs are great if you are a trendy fag that has to have something for the way it looks, not the way it functions or for having some sort of stability. 'nuff said.
Ryno: I find that angle controlled by direction works better than pen tilt, for hair brushes. That might just be me, though. Also I don't think Graphires and some non-Wacom tablets don't have a Tilt function... so Direction is the way to go for that. Also good for natural media brushes.
Been while since I posted here :O Anyways recently had a chance to work on a cool freelance project, this is a knight I made for it. It functions as an armor set and can split into 6 different pieces. 25k Tris, presentation in Unreal Engine. There's more images and a few GIFs on my page if…
@MACHIN3 Not sure I posed my suggestion well enough. Basically what I am after is a function that allows me to create L-shaped edge decals easily to support the workflow described here; http://https//www.artstation.com/artwork/l3wwa This is an awesome way to add fidelity to edges and a workflow that would perfectly…
i am totally diggin this environment. good job fixing the floor! one thing, tho, you might want to add some more detail to the door. its function doesn't come across super clear right away, like which way would the panels swing open, or would they slide into the walls? just some thoughts.
