Looking for skilled 3d people who use 3dsMax v6.x+ for use in building models from concepts. These will then be rigged, texturered and animated (by yourself if desired) and imported into the game, Dawn of War. Models usually range from standard units (2000-2500polys) to unique ones (5-7k polys). Bipeds will likely be done…
So my mouse is a 5700 dpi, but the buttons are starting to crap out and I need to buy a new mouse. Unfortunately, if I want to buy a the same mouse I have now it costs 60 bucks. So I was wondering what dpi mice you guys have, and if I can still get efficient precision for doing work in photoshop, 3dsmax etc. with a lower…
Hey guys, I've had a course up for a couple years now about transferring your skills from 3ds max to Maya. It was even featured here on Polycount :) I just wanted to let everyone know that its now updated for Maya 2017 and has some added sections. As always the link has a promo code so you can get it at a discount. If you…
Finally pulled Leshy out of the dark Some light to see him better. Sculpted all in Zbrush, was using Zbrush retopo for him and some 3DsMax. Texturing in Substance Painter with Zbrush base painting. Renderings are in Blender with Eevee. A lot of that stuff growing in his hair is actually modular and can be switched out.…
I'm currently using blender to do some animation for Unreal 5. I normally use Maya and have experience animating with 3dsmax and motion builder. here's an example of some blender created animations: https://twitter.com/sprunghunt/status/1610129567657889792?s=20 It works pretty well. I'm using the auto-rig pro addon and…
I really like the idea too but the shitty silhouette from the back bugs me alot. I think i'll try fleshing out the other slots first then might pick a few swords and stick them near his shoulders so they look more vertical. On another note, found out some neat light baking tricks in 3dsmax. Will do a write-up/tute soon as…
This is an ok error to have. If you bake at a higher resolution you can reduce that error but that's not really necessary. You should pull the camera back to the distance a player would see it and look at it again...ask yourself, will this even be remotely visible? Especially w/ a material applied? Also, I would never use…
Yeah, inside a Bitmap map there is a rollout called Coordinates. Make sure the radio button for Texture is active, and make sure the dropdown next to it is set to Explicit Map Channel. The UI is shown about halfway down here.…
Well I did lots of blending of edges to get over my problem but did found a solution I guess, have not tried this in my case but pretty positive it will solve the problem. http://www.mrbluesummers.com/4054/3d-tutorials/semi-transparent-layer-rendering-in-3dsmax This is the final result I got, the vehicle had several layers…
