Thanks! You ever notice how in rpgs and fantasy games, people get WAY COOLER as they 'level up', but in military games everybody is super bland? I envision a world where soldiers build swagger faster than they can receive commendations. A little bit X-COM inspired.
@Alemja - Good start. Careful of the feet they bow in a bit too much right now. Got a bunch done today. Nearly finished with the sculpt. Might re-sculpt the pants. Gonna take a look at them tomorrow. Also edited the boots from the concept and added some metal plating.
I've put everything together to see how it looks. Still a few things missing, and I still need to do the belt around the cogs yet too. Apologies to any engineers out there if this doesn't make any sense function-wise, I don't know a thing about engines!
Revisited the pants and cleaned up some of the other pieces after the holidays. Thinking I might wrap up the sculpt. It was good practice in clothing. I still need to do the low poly and texture and I would like to jump in on the Comic con challenge if I can. Cheers guys!
Here is a bit more info on the cons part: I had to texture a medieval character belt with tileable celtic knots. I tried to do it in painter first but needed to distort/edit the image shape before projection to match the belt model. In 3d coat you can do exactly that.
You should search on youtube some 10 vs 7, there are a lot of good reviews with pros and cons. I use win 10 and i never had any troubles with it. Sure it has that force update but i had no problems so far and i use it for 2 years already.
Ahh breaking bad ;p Liking the direction your going so far. Sunglasses/Glasses might be cool but also might be too Walter White. Give him a watch/id and he cud be a cop/spy after a rough night. Looking forward to seeing where you take this
" I was told that 3d modeling for environments or props would not be a good career choice because of websites like turbosquid" Here a simple way to put this to the test. Buy a recent game (Watch Dogs 2, Dishonored 2, CoD), select a level of your choice ... and try to find the assets on Turbosquid.
What Teh Splatt and Ostraga pointed out. The ears do seem a little low even if it is stylised as it looks to be going in the direction of realistic based of your contributed reference images and I'm a little unsure to the path your taking with this now? Is it still a jester or more of a (la) noire cop character?
Loving those proportions @daphz. A bow probably wouldn't suit someone with such heavy armour, so I think a couple axes or short-swords would work well. A two-handed weapon such as a long-sword might look a bit too masculine. Keep up the great work folks!
