Fo sho. Was playing Forza 3 just now for the first time since GT5 and it's definitely my favourite. Car physics are spot on, realistic enough but fun. Customisation in Forza is hands down the best too. Engine swaps and big noisy exhausts on a Honda Fit ftw!
great trees! their structure of branches is made properly, that's why they look so realistic however there is something wrong. I am not sure what is the problem but the scene in closeups looks a bit flat, that could be lighting or diffuse textures (colors may be too uniform) anyway great job!
It's not competition. Remember the fuss with motion capture stealing all the work away from animators? Didn't happen. Just like mocap only captures realistic motion, this only captures shapes of real-world objects, and not really all that well. The textures are just color maps, too.
Thank for comment. I've added some dirt roughness layers to it but I don't know what was the problem I think it's from environment lighting. I'm planning to make pirate ship also and I will try to achieve wood more realistic for that time. Thank you again.
Spec (and gloss) is also one of those things that can be highly subjective on the target engine, depending on how it's implemented. So be aware that what looks good in your 3D viewport might not work as well when you see it in-game. Also, fresnel is important for realistic spec.
Yeah, skylight by itself just casts light from all directions, you will get nothing but ambient occlusion from it. I would recommend using Area lights with mental ray since they can cast nice soft shadows and are more realistic than point lights.
Looking at the development, guess u are looking for a realistic style. Or are u planning to give him a comic look at the end as in the concept? I am not into micromesh, but maybe u can get something with insert meshes. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?170167-Insert-Multi-Mesh-Repository/page3
SimonT - Oh wow, you're right, the knees are really low. I'll get on that. almighty_gir - Could you elaborate? Are you saying to do the face full anime, like what Haz done with his Miku? I'm trying do a hybrid style between anime and realistic.
Nice mix between realistic and your avatar. Id stick with the avatar style :D Looks like your more of a stylish illustrator than a monster realism person. Change your blogger settings! I cant have a look at your website without being invited!
Haha, I have started this same scene :) I've been working really slow on it though, so I'm gonna look forward to seeing how yours turns out. How closely are you gonna follow the concept and are you going to go more stylized or realistic?
