I feel like the fact that we're at the end of the console's life cycles probably doesn't help. On one hand I'm sure you've got people thinking they might want to pick things up for this generation while they're still being made, but I think a lot of people are probably waiting or saving up for the next generation coming…
i decided to change the rig i was using to the lily and snout rig. I kinda wanted to go with a star theme, so now the character is sort of an explorer from another dimension. the personality i'm going for now is still cartoony, but more of a curious explorer type. I ended up making the run cycle that i liked, but i'll…
yeah ive had that method of overlaying layer after layer from the nvidia filter, but sometimes it starts to get that cloudy shape recognition type of look that crazybump gives. Edit: just did a quick test using a texture i did a while ago. I used nDo, xnormal, and nvidia. i dont have crazybump anymore so couldnt use it for…
The best way I've found to interactively control the glossiness is to (in Photoshop) apply a saturation adjustment layer over top of the layer with the reflectance. I find that this gives me independent control on the color value of my material and the glossiness without having to try to balance the two at the same time…
The "smaller details" I'm thinking of is the variation of building of the snowflakes themselves that create very small peaks and valleys on the surface of the snow mounds themselves. In a softer snow look, it's spread all over the snow and flat areas only show up if another force pushed that snow into a flatter formation.…
sometimes i'm not sure i should revoke my concept set or not, because currently got 2 sets promised (clockwerk and faceless void) to collab and right now i receive ZERO respond when i ask how is the thing going. (one of them yet i saw steam status is online and playing games as well) all i want is your responses, either…
@Rurouni Strife- Thanks for the kind words. As far as your question I took the "Volume" layer from nDo2 Diffuse bake set and I clamped it and threw it in a mask as an adjustment layer to get color variation. I tried really hard to not just throw overlay maps, but instead use them in a way that affected colors across the…
Asset has lots of potential but looks really flat at the moment. First couple of images are better as they have nice punchy contrast between light and shade (and cryengine ssao is providing nice contact shadows that separate wood from stone) It's strange that there seems to be no specularity whatsoever. Nice spec map will…
I'd go with tiling textures for this. You would save a lot of time on unwrapping and on painting the textures. It will also be easier to tweak the textures later if you need. I find it a pain in the ass to work with unique uv sheets for stuff like this. You might need to change your geometry later and you won't have the…
The crashes seem random. 3do crashes a lot to. I have only used DDO for a few hours yet so will do some more tests and see if i can see a pattern. Will post a reply later. I really want it to work well so i can buy it. It is a huge time saver and the results seems to be great! I want to use NDO later aswell so i guess i…
