Real quick I just searched and found these basic examples through Google. There are a lot of basic UV layout tutorials of boxes out there making it shaped liked this: http://www.ozone3d.net/~geeks3d/public/satyr/200909/gettingstartedwithblender3/images/uvmatching.jpg However, with game engines, normal maps and hard edges…
- Mathew O - Thanks man! Great critiques, and I'm wrapping my hand around the lighting, because I don't want to loose contrast in the rest of the scene, but I don't have to have it be all white in that corner either. I guess it's small touches in the end. I have an idea to make a "throne of books" around the clock as well,…
Thanks! On the creative side, they are mostly tech-driven: I have some idea that I want to test or some problem that I want to solve. In both this one and Brick Block, I wanted to find a good and systematic way of working with handcrafted tilesets. Along the way, I find other interesting problems I also want to tackle. In…
Hey Dan, dig the sculpt so far, and I think I can offer some crits that will hopefully help... though I'm not familiar with the statue you're studying. - the anatomy is good but the pose is very stiff right now. I like the tilt in the hips, maybe try adding a similar opposite tilt in the shoulders. - the cloth sculpt needs…
Ah, the mip-mapping. Forgot about that. Axi5 said: No worries, I was a bit unclear as I found this difficult to wrap my head around, let alone explain :p I also managed to call it a non-tiling texture instead of a non-uniform one :# So to sum up (feel free to correct!) Cons: The shader will still use the same amount of…
First off, great job Milly! She's really turned out great! Some feedback - -Overall, I think the colour scheme is great. I think she reads very well. I think her hood is ace, especially how the rest drapes down her back. I really like her eyes, especially on the second picture. They look "alive" to me. The metallic plates…

All three assets are very poorly optimised. You don't seem to have any problems with high-poly or texture work, so just spend more time on the low-poly models. I'd personally take all three down and retop/rebake them. Remember that if your model isn't going to deform then you don't need to stick to quads for your low-poly.…
Raider, you got a nice costume design going there! You might want to check out pipe wrinkles that form on sleeves and trouser legs. They kind of loop around the form and often cross each other. Also where stuff is tightly wrapped over like a belt, you get creases emanating from under the article which gives an impression…
