ok, so i'd drop the modular walkway thing or fix it. right now its not very modular friendly. You don't need all those extra pieces and a corner section. Just make a tileable texture in either axis. Also, maybe and try to make a quick high model of it instead of getting your normals from crazybump? might also rethink the…
Great scripts. After installing i've found that holding shift to constrain movement in the uv editor no longer works...hold shift and move verts to contrain along one axis, as soon as releasing it snaps back to the original position. I've had to do a work around and hold shift, then hold ctrl, release and it will work.…
Glam Rock Lumberjack: Re-presented Much Higher Resolution on here >>> artstation.com/artwork/vXG6a I produced this character during my time at university. It was Inspired by drag race and the iconic glam rock movement in the UK during the 1970s. The character was a little adventurous and understandably not to everyone's…
@oglu Yea im on the latest version of Maya update 3. i was hoping it would fix the issue, but nope. i guess i just have to wait until they get around to it. @Axi5 i never had a problem with windows causing a problem with maya. It's not a big deal but it would nice not to restarting the scene.
@FuzzyOwl That looks like a high poly smoothing thing there coming through in your bake. Are you using TurboSmooth in max? If that's the case, just try adding a few horizontal/vertical edge loops (depending on your geometry) to even out the poly distribution across the surface. Looks a bit like pinching in one area from…
I guess this is a question for the lurkers since he is 'done' with this... On stuff like the the Door cross beams, and the center of the the axels and the little stuff like the small light below the the fuel cap, would it of been better to normal map that since it didn't add to the silohette? So I'll start off with Zspheres (Creating a base mesh for a female character). Having an issues which I cannot seem to find a fix. I cannot snap draw a zsphere out on any axis. Anyone know a way around this?
@armagon, Well, I didn't say photo scanned, I said photo sourced. I am currently not using CGTextures for this pack at the moment. Everything is cut out from photos. ^^ (Some from Mayang Textures. They're awesome). @HAWK12HT, Yes I use splat maps. Terrain itself has a streaming LOD you don't get that by using geometry as…
Ok, got xnormal and it is producing some nice maps, better than Zbrush anyway, although the light/dark seam is still there. A problem is maxs "up" Z axis. So I assume i need to change the "Swizzle coordinates" in xnormal. Also, because I eventually plan to take this in to UDK would the altered map be a problem or will it…
If those are two separate objects then you will need to use the Vertex Normal Edit Tool (Mesh Display > Vertex Normal Edit Tool) in conjunction with the Vertex Face selection mode to force the vertex normals of both objects to point in the same direction. If your surface is planar along an axis you might be able to get…
