By that I mean use a multiply node, ie: the darker parts would be occluded and then a power node would be used like a levels adjustment in photoshop so the lerp mask won't be blurry. This video demonstrates the concept in UDK http://eat3d.com/free/vertex_painting
Man, I can't even run it. I try loading a level and it shows a bit of a scene and some super chunky (unreadable) text, and I have to hit the power button on my PC. Sure hope they look into whatever is causing it to be impossible to run.
New update: Waiting for new power supply to arrive before I go onto making the high res bitmaps because at this point, my pc shuts off entirely half way through rendering the AO at anything higher than 512x.
Not homosexual, perhaps a bit fabulous and flaky. Goodbye old hangout. You had staying power. Now the indestructible hangout has been created. Drop in and enjoy the jimmy rustling. https://plus.google.com/hangouts/_/2a16ae9a66e2afd6d0ca841500008327db7792d9?authuser=0&hl=en-GB
I don't know about the rest of the world but here in Ireland they have too much power, and quite often serve to keep unskilled idiots in their jobs. I think Ged hit the nail on the head, strongly enforced labor laws would be better.
Max is old and powerful. A lot of artists know it in and out and are used to the weird interface. It's just personal preferences. Anyone coming into modeling fresh should look at all the options out there because there's no reason to lock into Max these days unless you really like it.
Its getting very good! O loved the face expression just like the Lucian really is. I want to know about the hair. In the original model the hair on lucian have a important silhouette power. Are you planning on doing something to replace that silhouette?
Thanks guys. You know, Ive had polycruncher sitting on my compurter for awhile now, but never actually installed because I only started using max about 4months ago. But this morning all of that changed. Wow! the power of polycruncher is amazing.
$inz, the reason cgchat has to vote from 30+ logos is because none of them are as ICONIC or powerful as ol' Greentooth. hawken did a great job with him last year, and as much as I liked my submission, the smiley is more fun and iconic.
hahaha nice animation...don't know if its intended but it looks like a strut ;) ... ....some of the movement is hard to read from that angle...maybe add a bit more up down motion if you want it to be a bit more menacing/ convey more power.
