i did a test with guides, the 3dcoat one kind of shit the bed and left a massive hole in the side, i will also add that i do not have too much experience with 3dcoat, and i have exactly the same experience in all 3 packages with regards to the retopo tools, absolutely none, i just looked at documentation and repeated the…
Thx! I did collect lots of concept which inspire me, and combine the parts what I like. Also I came up with some parts and details. I'll figure out some more sign to add, good idea. And here is the current material: (nothing special so far, still learning this) (in the mix texture: red: specular, green: glossyness, blue:…
@gabkosit Hey man, the render is coming along very well! I'm attempting to create a realistic female head as well, I'm on the step of texturing... Do you mind showing us your maps? I would be very grateful if you did. I love the update, but I believe the hair cards is throwing off the realism. I would add more variety and…
Shadowing what ZacD said, get some nice colours in that grass to break it up. You have a good base you just need to find the right composition. Once you add in the fences we'll have more of a shot to look at. At the moment it's quite barren. On a side note, can I see the flats for your grass? How did you go about doing em?
You should just add the X,Y components and discard the blue channel of the detail normal map. That's actually the real 'Unreal/UDN' version. See here. Yes you did. Adding X,Y but multiplying Normal-Z. That's right, the adding works because the normals are in [-1, 1]-range. For the same reason it possible to simply multiply…
I guess I was trying to stay true to the original concept but yeah I agree it is pretty monochromatic. As for the a logo that sounds interesting I feel if she did have a logo it would be something to compliment her job. Such as a certain tool from the carpentry trade or maybe something comical. For the color I'll make it…
Oh, I just figured that out myself! Just edit the top post you made. You'll see a tiny pencil icon on the bottom of the 1st post. Then add the pic. Great job btw! I'm loving the mechanical parts. How did you make the details on the metal so cleanly? You are right that the anatomy needs that last bit of finishing up. I look…
Hey! I just wanted to thanks you for what you did, at the end of my studies i used GameDev map to look for internships all over the world and i know it helped many of my students mates :) I'm currently working in Japan and just asked if it was ok to add our studio on your map i will send you an email asap, Happy new…
I did some playing around and you can get a similar effect using the in-built functionality of Photoshop. Hit Ctrl+F a couple more times to accentuate the effect and possibly add an Unsharp Mask too. I hope that helps :) Edit: You can also make the edges sharper with a DryBrush filter set to Brush Size 10, Brush Detail 10,…
That's kind of condescending. You also didn't add anything to the conversation and you sound like you didn't read the post and don't have experience with the issue. Robeomega said: Thanks, I'll check it out! It's a shame it doesn't have a proper demo though. I'll give Blender a go again as well as it's been a while since…
