Might be some junk data in the mesh? Try creating a box, collapsing to Editable Poly, attaching your mesh, deleting the box element. Might also be the Subiv Surface within Editable Poly. Try using a TurboSmooth modifier instead?
It all depends, Bones Pro you can export the skinning you made in bones pro to a normal max Skin modifier which works for games. I don't know about Anzovin so i cant help you with that.
What I generally do is before adding control loops to each object I add an edit poly modifier, so if I need to make changes later on it saves time :) keep going though, that's a pretty nice highpoly!
by modifiers I assume you mean deformers? Which are available in the "animation" set under Create Deformers, from there u can create a lattice (ffd), wrap (NURBS patch deformer), and non-linear deformers (like bend and flare).
Unfortunately world position offset and even world displacement will only modify pixels and won't do anything with your polygons or collision. So even complex trace wouldn't result any different. :( You'll need to find an another way.
What modifier or mesh type are you using? Is it physically changing to edge mode or is it just the wire frame edges that turn red as Low Odor suggests? Also, if you can share what version of max you are using too.
Wow Thanks for the kind words. Nah don't be envious, this is a very simple set up and the modifiers do most of the work to be honest haha. I would struggle very much too if I were to tackle a hairstyle you mentioned. =)
I don't have max open right now so I can't check this but try copying the meshes, skinwrap it to the mcloth and use that as your collision, it might help to add a push modifier to give you some wiggle room.
I'll try that screen grabber script cptSwing. The way I've done it is dup the model, add a push modifier by .1, add a material with wireframe checked and render. It'd be a pain with tons of meshes in one scene........or I'm just lazy
tl:dr but afaik layers are for modifying anim, adding motion on top of motion not for actual management of anim tracks/files. Its like layers in photoshop you dont use one psd file with 1000 layers for all your photos.
