Well, what my professor told me was that I should take assignments from class and continue to work on them for a couple months after class ended so there would be more items in my reel. I would choose one or two animations you have that may show off other skills or that have very good potential and work on them.
You're pretty much right on me being new to 3D modelling, I've been able to pick it up very quickly but texturing is probably the hardest part of my quest to make Dota 2 items. I'll continue on with the "placeholder" texturing that I have so far. I'll also post some pictures of my current progress and my future progress.
I would suggest you to not split the different parts of the car body in such a early stage. Model the car body as a rough continuous mesh and then subdivide it once to get a smooth base. This base will have nice transitions between the different parts of the body, otherwise there would be discontinuities in the specular…
Art is more fun? wtf?!? no I think the point is it's a lot easier to post some art as to post some code at online boards. coding is a lot of fun and there are a lot of coders outside. But if you're a coder you have to work longer on one "thing" before it's ready to be shown/used anyhow.. I would say.. give yourself a…
i doubt anybody is going to continue this discussion. the sexism-threads seems like a thing of the past, there was some pretty wild discussions before, but now everybody knows what everybody else thinks about it, so there is little use discussing it, since it just would be the old arguments all over. but as a sidenote,…
Right, so let's all just pretend that everything is perfect. Then we can all just be happy the software even exists, while it stagnates and continues to lack vital features because no one will give them decent feedback. Gotta say though, I am amused by your idea that they would pull the software just because they received…

8 hours doesn't sound that crazy to me. I think with freelance you can't worry about the time it takes you - it's up to the client whether they are happy to continue paying your rate for the time it took. And if they are not then maybe they are not the right client for you. I think quality is important - if you rush to…
Hi guys, Back with updates. Was busy with celebrating the holidays, family dinner, etc. Managed to churn out 4hrs of works. Still very slow when come to high-poly. Focusing on the details seems to be the problem that I always face with doing hard surfacing Gonna continue tomorrow. Been keeping a logbook with this proj to…
Not yet but you can get there! It just takes time, effort and hard work. Concept Artist jobs are going to be a much harder endeavour. If you want to get into the game industry, continue pursuing Environment Art as I assume you're doing here. In terms of education, I would look into both Eat3D and 3DMotiv in order to…
