Hi, I'm a 3D Environment Artist that works mostly in the realistic style. www.BrandonVolpe.com Not sure what style you need for this project, but it sounds interesting. I have some Quixel and substance work here... https://www.artstation.com/artwork/yob3O Thanks, Brandon
Amazing work! I love that cartoonish but at the same time realistic look. Didn't believe was UE4 at first! I agree with KirsLW about the ice: looks a bit off together with the rock part. But it's a really small detail. It's really an awesome work!
As far as I know only CryEngine has built in real time day/night cycle, and realistic real time lighting, including real time GI, so probably that will be the winner. Not sure about the Occulus Rift, but it has a nice glass shader.
Hi Maxxi, I'm just trying to get a few more details before I gauge a price range for this project. What sort of materials you were aiming for? Is this going to be photo-realistic or a more stylized piece? Is it a highpoly or lowpoly model? Thanks!
Thank you very much for the input. I'll start working on it and post the results. I'll try different options on the wood texture to try to get a better too. As for the lighting somehow I'm unable to replicate the results Epic shows in their "Realistic rendering" example:
Oh yeah, I didn't see it in that way. Thanks for your feedback :) I will do a "realistic" version of the 2 spells, that my goal from the beginning even if the jury wants "LOL like" effects. But your opinion is right and I will think about it ^^
Looking good! The arms are looking alot nicer, and the softer transition between her butt cheeks look more realistic (and not so skin tight!). Good choice taking out the boot straps, they might not have translated so well on the low poly.
Personally for me if this was intended to be baked down, I generally like it being blobbier than its realistically supposed to be just to exaggerate the normals. Of course you don't want it to just be goop, but having extremely tight edges is a complete waste of a texture map.
The latest Dirt rally in early access is awesome rally game, going back to it's Colin roots :) I highly recommend it. Also Shift 1 was awesome, it has really nice realistic feel to it, but you can turn on most of the assist so it is easier :)
Your portfolio looks good. The one thing I would recommend is to add some work from other genres like sci-fi or fantasy, unless you want to work on realistic assets like the stuff you have made thusfar.
