Thanks folks! I want to move on to the low-poly this weekend, so I'll be using this to decimate and start retopo. I chunkified many of her elements to read a bit better from a distance and stylize things. I plan to rig the ghost arms so I can get some wicked-twisty shapes and break up the backside.
Uhm really not bad, it remembers me something like MediEvil 2 game, set in victorian london with a lot of steampunk styled elements. something like 1st industrial revolution. Steampunk brings to my mind also the nautilus submarine from the "twenty thousand leagues under the sea" Think about how could be set it all inside…
This is looking much better. As for worrying how to blend the modern with the sci-fi element, maybe go a bit of a dystopian cyber punk route where as technology advances, we just bolt new tech and structures onto existing ones. It seems that you are going in that direction already. Keep it up and I will be looking forward…
I don't have any sword models to show but guns are popular because there are so many games that use them and they can have lot of customizable elements. Why don't you start it off by posting the sword you're working on. It doesn't need to be finished to be on the forums. Maybe other people will also be willing to share…
it would be helpful if you displayed texture sheets. another thing is i remember the test stating it would like to see the old mixed with the new and your geo shows that but the textures don't, well as far as the big metal thing i think you should give that more character in the texture and showcase it as its a some what…
Thanks guys! Ha- I suppose he does look similar in some ways. I was hoping to take some of my favorite elements from past designs and sort of mash them together into a very visceral-feeling Batman. Batmanning through Europe would be seriously awesome. Now I want to make Bat-Goggles for him. Haha
Imagination is fine, but some elements of realism is necessary to make a concept worth looking into. What you have is just a mish mash of triangles that don't give the impression it's a vehicle of any kind. Again, don't worry about actually painting it just yet. Save that for last. Work on getting references first and…
@RustySpannerz Thank you! So, I think, the basic design is complete, and I can move on to the high poly and details. I hadn't thought up design of pieces like this before, so I will be glad to hear what you think about it. And my refs board, where from I copied the elements looked for inspiration
I have had a little play around with the thickness of some of the elements and I am already seeing big improvements to the silhouette. As you can see from the piccy I have only done it to the left side. I think in some areas it creats allot of distortion. Hopefully I can hide that with some nice dark unscratched metal.
I wasn't going to jump in straight away, if no one replied here I have the guys at work to critique for me, thanks for the reply. I don't think the anatomy is too far off, but I'll take a look at it anyway. sculpting cloth is not something I have much experience with, I'll take another crack at that element (this was the…
