My attention span? I finish very few games.I got 3/4s throguh Dead Rising and binned it cos it was naff. I get to disc 2 on Resi 4 ont he cube, bin it. I got to the final main boss in Shadow OTC and decided the game was boring (I just asked someone at work what happened next). Psychonauts? Great game. Got to the conspiracy…
This concept is really nice---I like it alot. Those abs are pretty hot....any way you could get them to show? hahahaha.... But in all seriousness, what kind of movement is your character going to be doing? Will he ever raise his shoulder above his head? If so, you'll have to think of a way for his shoulder spikes to be…
It's not too bad. For instance for my wife's head I had 5 duplicates at about 8 million each, plus one with hdgeo somewhere around 32 mill. It can slow things down a bit, but really it's not that bad performance wise. The big hit comes from all the textures you bake out. After awhile you have 40-50 4096 or 8192 maps…
I'm taking a different direction with the head piece because the head slot also accounts for items worn on his back or go along his back. I didn't want to leave his back completely bare and put too much stuff on his head. Additionally, the high ponytail is going to be a lot more difficult to rig if I wanted it to act the…
lol yeah noonie Cholden works like 3 cubes away from me. It seems like 80% of poly count is Mythic. I like where its headin though, but Ive told you that already. Cholden is right, dirty is good. Skaven are nasty dirty things. For the horns on the head... in the concept on the Mythic page the horns are much longer and curl…
It looks like your side profile ref head is tilted back a little bit. A good rule is that the top of the ear should be roughly level with eyebrow ridge and bottom of ear lobe is roughly level with the base of the nose. I think that might be throwing your entire head angle off a little bit as it looks like you fixed the ear…
It's that time again. Every few months I like to post the current state of my portfolio in order to get a better understanding of where it stands. So with that in mind, feedback on any aspect would be wonderful. Portfolio: http://leinadirabka.blogspot.com/
So, I've finally completed this project. I wanted to make something easy to model and paint and to have a deep dive into rendering and lighting as it was my weakest point. I also wanted to get off my habits of an artstyle of a game I was working for several years (guns too). Even though modeling went fast, the texturing…
Did you even read what i wrote? Srlsy, stop defending and explaining your self. Sure you want to explain your workflow, but you came here asking for help. Your headline should have been "Art dump - I'll explain what technique I use (I really don't want to hear about the other, better techniques there is out there)". And…
[ QUOTE ] is overlapping uvs ok w/ normal maps? i've heard its a big no no. [/ QUOTE ] It really depends on the engine you're working with. Most engines it doesn't matter, and it will only get screwed up when you bake. BUT there are ways around that. Such as moving one of the pieces up in the W space, or moving it over…
