I really want to put a lot of emphasis on the graffiti and add as much detail to it as I can. The Normal and Spec will really go a long way on it, and looking at the decal functions of UDK on giving the scenario of where I would like to stick the graffiti I'm not too sure it would work out right, any ideas?
dude the nature scene is awesome! Did you hand make the trees or use speed tree? Seems like there's tessellation on most of the tiling textures. Were you able to optimize that aspect of it? I know Unreal's terrain functions have their own specific tessellation behaviors it can be hard to pin it down to something usable.
This is something I have more or less confirmed between talking with some people that work there and listening to interviews on youtube. While Blizzard has concept artists, many of the modelers work from their own concepts as well. You need to show you can create functional designs in line with what you're hired on to…
Hello hansolocambo, thank you for beging interested in my problem. How can a wireframe help me to make holes into an existing model? On the other hand, booleans (and other modifiers) can. I am still able to pretty effectively work with Spacedraw but I have to say again that such a function would be really appreciated.
really like the feeds and the concept! the weakest parts are the folds! and the face and.. I would give the backpack some more functional details so it doesn't look so plastic toy like BUT without loosing the simple forms.. me likes them btw.. I think the old head / goggles had more flair
Would like to know if using the normal from heightmap function is okay to use. I am not sure ppl use it that much here. Turns out you can't smooth out low res jagged edges of normal maps using a grayscale texture. http://www.chrisalbeluhn.com/UT3_Vertex_Blend_Variation_Tutorial.html Using this for mask is just awesome
3ds max has almost no useful hotkeys and you have to map the most basic functions yourself, or suffer through very tedious modelling process. Of course you can just click everything and never use hotkeys at all, but it's such a pain once you realize how much time you can save.
well, you might as well tell me not to use my PS3, when it's on, it's online. If it's not online I've lost a large portion of it's functionality. I'd say this shows the need for a failsafe system similar to how some PC Motherboards have dual BIOS chips so they can recover from a failed firmware update.
I'm gonna have to experiment with different versions then and see if I can get one that functions properly. If I can't rectify this problem I may have to temporarily switch to Maya for modeling until I can build my new pc. Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys I really appreciate it.
Hi! Very sorry for this, Do you remember if you used the "Save as" function? It should not make a difference of course but I want to make sure so we know if there is a problem with it. Did you do anything differnt when installing the suite this time around, change install path or something? Are you running it as admin?
