Why not try adding atmosphere to some of your renders? Everything around us in real life has atmosphere, like particles of different things. I feel that's one of the biggest ways to add realism/depth/life to a project and escape the more cg look (unless that is your goal of course!). I feel I should give an example. Take a…
Thanks for tips,I got some great ideas from you.I really like the tapered body and the front siluette looks good with that head.I don't think i will make the planes on it that sharp tho,i aim for something cartoonish, like old Tom&Jerry cartoons.I will make some changes and call it done, still need to…
Texturing done, made 2 iterations of coloring. At first I was like But then I skipped bloody version, because I want to make my troll more cartoonish. So now I move to the next part - rigging, pose, adding some props and final presentation. Stay tuned!
I think the "90s feel" is subjective. Yes there were crt monitors but in some parts of the world computers were very expensive. Just an example. Getting back at the above scene, the tv model looks a bit cartoonish. Did you have any reference for it? The grunge on it is very random and homogenous at the same time. Same for…
I don't really like' totally' photoreal stuff, stylised is the way to go, sort of in between reality and cartoony.i do admire the people who can do it well though, it's a definite skil set. I have tried hard to be photo real, but can't quite pull it off lolI am sticking to average.
Oh, no worries at all! You helped immensely, especially with the videos and the model you showed. I think that kind of helped out more than anything. For some problems, I think I'll have to approach the overall workflow a little differently next time. The second character I ever did was quite a bit easier with a simpler…
@Raybees Thank you very much, I'm trying to push the narrative aspect of this scene as much as I can, glad you noticed :) @blot12345 I absolutely love how your scene is progressing, the mood and the cartoonish look really sell it! Speaking about things that stick out, your scene looks really solid but some props like the…
You clearly did a lot of work here and seem to have invested a lot of time into your work. That's good of course. To me however, it looks as if you mixed different styles. The humans look quite stylized/cartoonish while the environment itself, especially the foliage is more leaning towards a realistic style.
