Didn't have too much time to work on this today, but I decided to play around with the proportions and replace the spoon-thing with a bone. I like the story-telling element, still deciding if it's clear or not though. Also added more geo to the base so it's not so low-poly looking. As always, and critiques or ideas are…
YOUHOU ! Thank you so much !!! AlecMoody, I have removed the top surface, and here are my result : This is ... perfect :) But, just a question then I set this thread to solved : Is it a good process to bake element separatly to add them on a model normal map with photoshop ? Thank you thank you thank you thank you !
I think you can try go modular on the pages, instead of storing the page as a texture, store individual sprites! At least for your examples, all other elements seem like they can be reused and tiled. It will limit your expressiveness a bit, but save a ton of textures. (That's how one would do it in Web/UI design)
Thanks ! Here is a small update. I changed the main texture, and created some morphers to animate the smoke for the missile launch. The green is fine, though I'll use a red/orange gradient for the reactor smoke. The base is complete; I need to create some particles and trails to upgrade it. I cannot wait to combine all of…
You'll need to do more to make that robot look good, right now it looks too primitive, as in made from basic 3D primitives with a few extensions. That's easier said than done, but that's where the artistic element comes in. It will help to take a few screenshots and do a paintover for yourself to come up with more complex…
I mostly disagree with jack, but the fact that the stretch goals include FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENTS OF GAME DESIGN is enough to spook me. 100k it's a 2player game with 'leveling', 200k its a team coop game, 500 k it's pvp diablo, 1 million its a hangout game with tons of classes ????? What kind of game are they TRYING to make?
I think it would flow a lot better if your site loaded to your most current work from the start. It's a lot of clicking to go though and waiting for fancy menus to expand. I also think resume and contact could be made into the same link they are very similar elements that could go together to save on clicks to navigate.
Started a new sideproject to get away from animation and rigging. Kinda just adding and subtracting elements to get a design that works, as of now I don't know if it does but it's fun so I have that at least. Also pushing myself to get better at zbrush so we'll see how this fits into that, as of now it's all just Maya.
models look nice, especially the chick. textures are what could use most improvement. materials don't look very defined, especially their specularity. the vespa guy also looks a bit clean, he has few stains but clothes seem really fresh anyway. leather elements could use some edge wear.
Fun concept. Face needs anatomy help. Several smaller elements and bony landmarks have been missed. Color zone is monotonous across the skin. Lips don't curve around the face and indent at the sides. The eyes are oval. No sternocledoid mastoid defined. Do you have an evenly lit turn around of the head sculpt?
