thanks! Yeah, you're right demonprincess, would help define those surfaces a bit better. I tried here & there, and kept failing they weren't fitting stylistically with the rest of the shading/lighting, and kept taking them out or toning the highlights down. should have tried harder, but gave up! haha :( the thread must…
Nice updates, I am continuously seeing improvement which is awesome. I find that renders from Zbrush look better when they are in perspective, rather than isometric. I even tend to sculpt in perspective as it more accurately represents the forms of whatever your working on. Just something to think about, keep it up man.
Started to block out the vest and hands today and added leaves to the crown. I don't want to continue down below the waist simply because I'd rather just complete this instead of build build build. Things to do: Fix neck/collarbone, Finish hair, create shawl (not sure how I'm going to build that)
To anyone following the post... I continue to work on the ogre. I've got the clothes somewhat completely modelled. Some polish seems necessary. Next I'm going to go back and polish all the anatomy off where it pokes through the clothes. Especially the face. I want to make him look more monstrous. Thoughts?
@Vneck04 awesome work! Love lightning and vibrant colors. I continue my throne, I think I won`t make it in time due troubles at work, but I`ll finish it anyway. While I was painting I`ve faced some problems with textures and their resolution. It was my mistake :( At this time I have this:
Thank you Mark! It makes me feel really good to hear things like that. I guess my mission is to use my favorite tool (Max) to do 99.9% of my favorite 3D passtime (Source level design). Hopefully I can continue to add new things to make it even better as time goes on.
I really like how you're bringing those storytelling elements to life, @AgelosAp! Do you think you'll use the current look for his mustache, or are you planning on approaching it another way (cards or fibermesh or something)? Can't wait to see how you continue forward with the character. Keep up the awesome work!
I was sad to hear this news yesterday and am grateful to see it posted here this morning. Kris was a student of mine and I was always in awe of his work ethic and positive attitude. I'm certain he'll continue to be a positive force once he recovers and urge my fellow artists to support him to any degree that you can.
slowly making progress: added worldposition offset to the lava to make it move, continuing to make more assets (new cages and walkways), and made a new master material with the help of an awesome 3dmotive tutorial. Unfortunately no lighting changes yet. Still a little new to UDK, so this has been a great learning…
For the last 4months at least 60hours a week, for the last month 70+ which will continue for the next 5 and a half weeks :/ Although really only this last month has really been stressed that we put in the time and is never required. Normally is like 45 to 50 and thats just because I want to put in the extra time.
