Same here, in sweden the word for artist is konstnär, which has a way more fancy artsy meaning than the "3d grafiker" which would be my title, same spelling as yours. But yeah, it helps seperate the fact that I'm making products and cool looking stuff, not art :P Would anyone call a fashion designers or graphics designers… -

There might be an easier way, but the way I do it is by using the BPR function. If you do a BPR render (the little button on the upper right of the default layout, keyboard shortcut Shift+R), you can go into the Render -> BPR Renderpass menu and click on the "Mask" pass, allowing you to save that mask out for future use.… -

the nice thing is that the ui and workflow is designed to be intuitive. you do not need much training and explanation. there is a natural flow and layout. also you absolutely need to have the documentation. every tool has full documentation and some explanation of how to do basic tasks.… -

Test bakes before final uv packing, because if you find some major problem that requires you to change how you've laid out your uvs (say you need to add some hard edges, and thus split up uv islands) that may require you to make big changes to your uv layout, so its better if thats not locked down at that point. -

I'm no programmer. The code is gobbledegook to me. If you're forced to use square textures, then you can pack two rectangle textures into one square texture sheet. Then use a UVW Xform modifier to quickly scale and offset the objects' UVs to match the new UV layout (or use UVW Unwrap for a more visual method). Assuming… -

hmm.. someone correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like all your geometry has unique UV space, I see plenty of room to duplicate a side or two (only UV one blanket, one side of the chest, one wheel etc). could make your UV layout better. What size is your Texture? Doesn't seem to say (neither in your portfolio.. ) -

If it was gov ordered there'd be at least some concern for reducing collateral damage. But considering the layout of the structure I suppose just blowing away the central support pillars would make it drop cleanly. Al Qaeda would bomb it like that (least explosives necessary) but TGZ said there's no way the planes alone…
